About us
How it started
Vildana was born in St. Gallen (CH) in 1987. Even as a little girl of a working class family from Kosovo, she was always concerned about the financial challenges of her family. As an educationally ambitious person, she knew first-hand what difficulties had to be overcome in order to obtain a solid education.
Vildana was always anxious to help the disadvantaged. She regularly used her humanitarian character to support financially disadvantaged people. She also helped several people in her family and circle of friends to complete their studies or professional training with financial means.
Vildana died at the young age of 30. She left behind a son of 11 months whom she loved more than anything else.
Her will and drive to provide humanitarian aid is deeply rooted in the foundation’s vision and purpose and characterizes the raison of the foundation.
With these ethical values, the Vildana Foundation was founded in 2021 by her family members and their friends.
Vision
“To support economically disadvantaged, talented students in the Albanian-speaking world by providing scholarships to support their studies”.
Many students in the Albanian-speaking regions have to work in order to finance their studies. Such professional activities come close to full-time employment, so that the essential thing, namely their studies, is relegated to the background. Others are dependent on financial help from family members and/or friends.
In order to enable these students to study without worries (from a financial point of view), the foundation makes scholarship contributions.
Our Philosophy
The aim of the foundation is to support students (or prospective students) in the regions of Albanian origin (especially Kosovo, Albania and Northern Macedonia) with scholarships.
The foundation aims to provide financial support as well as to promote educational organizations students regardless of age, qualification, religious and/or cultural background in the above mentioned regions.
To this end, the Foundation covers the tuition fees for students who are suitable for prescribed qualifications and who have successfully passed an application process.
Talented students may not give up their studies due to financial shortages; it is our concern to support economically disadvantaged students!
